Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights, Tuesday, March 10, 2026: The Indian benchmark market indices ended a two-day losing run as risk sentiment rose following US President Donald Trump’s indication that the war with Iran could end soon.
The Nifty50 closed 0.97 percent higher, or 233.5 points, at 24,261.6, while the Sensex closed 0.82 percent higher, or 639.82 points, at 78,205.98.
Trump stated that the battle with Iran might be resolved’very soon’ as he faced increasing political and economic pressure following days of erratic fluctuations in the energy market, according to Bloomberg.
The broader markets outpaced the benchmark indices. The Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap indices were up 1.62 and 2.12 percent, respectively.
The Nifty Auto index outperformed the others in its sector. The Nifty Consumer Durable and the Nifty Financial Services-Ex Bank indexes also performed well.
Meanwhile, the Nifty IT index was the most affected among sectoral sectors. Nifty Oil and Gas also underperformed.
