Stock Market Close Highlights, February 9, 2026: Indian equities markets closed in positive territory on Monday, boosted by a significant increase in State Bank of India (SBI) after its third-quarter results. Investor confidence remained optimistic as markets continued to respond positively to the historic India-US trade agreement.
Following the trade deal’s announcement earlier last week, India and the United States issued a joint statement on Friday setting a framework for the Interim Trade Agreement (ITA).
The BSE Sensex closed at 84,065.75, up 485.35 points or 0.58 percent, while the NSE Nifty 50 ended at 25,867.3, up 173.6 points or 0.68 percent.
In the broader markets, the Nifty Midcap index rose 1.58%, while the Nifty Smallcap index increased 2.64%.
On the BSE, SBI was the biggest gainer, up 7.57 percent. Titan, UltraTech Cement, Tata Steel, and Eternal were also among the top gainers. Power Grid, NTPC, ICICI Bank, and ITC were the main laggards.
Sectorally, it was a sea of green as all indicators closed higher. Nifty PSU Bank, Media, and Consumer Durables were the top performers, each rising by more than 3%.
