Sensex today | Stock market close highlights, Tuesday, October 7, 2025: On Tuesday, Indian stock markets extended their winning streak by buying heavyweights such as Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and Bharti Airtel.
The BSE Sensex rose 136 points, or 0.17 percent, to 81,926 levels, while the NSE Nifty50 closed at 25,108.3 levels, up 30.65 points, or 0.12%.
In the broader market, the Nifty Midcap 100 index increased 0.47 percent, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 index rose 0.31 percent.
On the sectoral front, the Nifty Realty index was the biggest gainer, up 1.09 percent, followed by Nifty Oil & Gas, Pharma, Consumer Durables, Healthcare, Bank, Auto, and Energy. In contrast, Nifty FMCG, PSU Bank, Media, Metal, and IT all closed in the red.
Bharti Airtel, HCL Tech, Ultratech, Tata Steel, and Power Grid were the Sensex constituents with the highest gains. Axis Bank, Tata Motors, Trent, State Bank of India, and Infosys were the biggest laggards.
