Sensex today | Stock Market Close Highlights, Friday, December 26, 2025: The Indian market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty50 closed down, as the holiday-shortened week provided few new opportunities for investors. Selling pressure in IT and auto companies, combined with the Sensex expiry, further impacted market confidence.

Titan, NTPC, and Hindustan Unilever were among the biggest gainers on the BSE. On the other hand, Bajaj Finance, Asian Paints, and HCL Technologies were the biggest drags.
On the NSE, Titan, Hindalco, and Nestle India were the top winners, while Asian Paints, Shriram Finance, and Bajaj Finance were the top losers.
Broader markets also ended in red. The Nifty Midcap 100 index ended 0.23 percent lower, while the Nifty SmallCap 100 index fell 0.08 percent.
The Nifty IT fell the most (1.03%), followed by Auto (0.52%). On the other side, the Nifty Metal index finished up 0.59 percent.
