Stock market close highlights, Wednesday, July 23, 2025: Indian stock markets closed the session higher, mirroring global market strength. Additionally, stock-specific action during the present quarterly earnings season for the June quarter (Q1FY26) also influenced mood.
The BSE Sensex closed at 82,726.64, up 539.83 points (0.66 percent), while the NSE Nifty50 rose 159 points (0.63 percent) at 25,219.9.
The biggest gainers on the Sensex were Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finance, and Maruti Suzuki, while the top losers were Hindustan Unilever, Infosys, UltraTech Cement, and BEL.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap 100 gained 0.34 percent, while the Nifty SmallCap 100 ended flat.
Nifty Auto rose 0.85%, Nifty Financial Services 0.76%, and Nifty Metal 0.48%. On the contrary, Nifty Realty declined 2.6%.
