Stock Market close highlights, Wednesday, June 25, 2025: Indian equity markets rose for the second day in a row, boosted by gains in media and technology firms, as lowering oil prices and an Iran-Israel ceasefire relieved investor anxieties.
The BSE Sensex index closed at 82,755.51, up 700.4 points (0.85 percent), while the Nifty50 stood at 25,244.75, up 200.40 points (0.8%).
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap index and the Nifty SmallCap index rose 0.44 percent and 1.5 percent, respectively.
The top gainers were the Nifty Media, IT, and Consumer Durables indices, which rose 1.99 percent, 1.64%, and 1.43%, respectively.
The top Sensex gainers today were Titan Company, M&M, Infosys, Power Grid, TCS, and Bharti Airtel, which rose up to 3.6%. On the negative, BEL, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Axis Bank were the leading losers, down up to 3%.
India VIX, the fear index used to measure market volatility, decreased over 5% to 12.96 points.
