Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices: Indian equity indices finished the volatile session on Thursday in the green. The BSE Sensex gained 142.43 points, or 0.23%, to 60,806.22, while the NSE Nifty 50 gained 21.75 points, or 0.12%, to 17,893.45. Bajaj Finserv, Asian Paints, IndusInd Bank, Infosys, and Bajaj Finance were the top gainers on the Sensex, while Bharti Airtel, UltraTech Cement, Tata Motors, Sun Pharma, and Axis Bank were the top losers.
Mutual Fund SIP inflows hit record high in January
The inflows into equity mutual funds rose in January, led by investments in small- and multi-cap funds. SIP contribution jumped from Rs 13,573.08 crore in December 2022 to Rs 13,856.18 crore in January 2023. Net investments in equity and equity-linked schemes surged over 70% from December to Rs 12,546.5 crore in January, according to data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI). In January SIP accounts hit 6.21 crore, compared to 6.12 crore in December.
