Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: Domestic indices finish the first trading week of fiscal year 23 in the red. On Friday, the Nifty fell 132.70 points, or 0.75%, to 17,859.45, while the Sensex fell 450 points to 59,900. The bulls attempted a comeback in the final hour of trading, with the Nifty rising nearly 70 points from its intraday lows and the Sensex regaining about 260 points. As the benchmark indices fell, the banking sector index Bank Nifty fell 419 points, or 1%, to 42,188. The broader markets also ended in the red, with the Nifty Midcap 100 down 0.76% and the Nifty Smallcap 100 down 0.81%, respectively. Sectorally, all indices fell, but Nifty IT fell 2% and Nifty Private Bank closed 1.12% lower and Nifty Media shed 1.45%. JSW Steel, TCS, IndusInd Bank were the top laggards on the Nifty 50 index.
