Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: On Monday, the main equity indices finished in the green. The NSE Nifty 50 rose 181.15 points, or 0.94%, to 19,411.75, while the BSE Sensex rose 594.91 points to 64,958.69. The major indices finished higher, with smallcap companies leading the way. The Bank Nifty rose 301.15 points, or 0.70%, to 43,619.40. Among the other sectoral indexes, metals, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, real estate, and oil and gas stocks led the gains, while PSU banks and consumer durables stocks fell. The top gainers on the NSE Nifty 50 were Divi’s Labs, Eicher Motors, Hero MotoCorp, Axis Bank, and Larsen & Toubro, while the laggards were State Bank of India, Hindustan Unilever, Cipla, Tata Motors and Titan Company. The volatility index (India Vix) ended up 2.04%.

US stocks closed higher on Friday in volatile trade to snap a four-session losing streak as investors wrestled with a mixed jobs report and comments from Federal Reserve officials on the pace of interest rate hikes, reported Reuters.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite surged 132.31 points or 1.28% to 10,475.25. The S&P 500 rose 50.66 points or 1.36% to 3,770.55, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 401.97 points or 1.26% to 32,403.22.
