Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Stock Prices Highlights: The major equity indices finished Tuesday’s trading session in the green. The NSE Nifty 50 increased by 168.50 points, or 0.81%, to 20,855.10, while the BSE Sensex increased by 431.02 points, or 0.63%, to 69,296.14. The broader indices finished in positive territory, with Largecap and Midcap stocks leading the way. The Bank Nifty index rose 580.85 points, or 1.25%, to 47,012.25. Banking and consumer durables companies outperformed the other sectors indices, while media, real estate, and information technology stocks fell. The top gainers on the NSE Nifty 50 were Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports & SEZ, Power Grid, NTPC, and State Bank of India, while the laggards were LTI Mindree, Hindustan Unilever, Divis Lab, HCL Technologies, and Bajaj Auto. The Indian Volatility Index (India VIX) closed up by 3.57 %.

The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the value of the dollar against a basket of six foreign currencies, traded up 0.08% at 103.62.
Foreign institutional investors (FII) purchased shares worth net Rs 2,073.21 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DII) added shares worth net Rs 4,797.15 crore on December 4, 2023, according to the provisional data available on the NSE.
