Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: Indices for the domestic market After setting new all-time highs, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 settled at new closing highs. The Nifty 50 concluded a hair under 19,750 at 19,749.25, while the Sensex closed 200 points higher at 66,795.14 following a turbulent session. The broader markets finished mostly down, with the Nifty Next 50 losing 0.43% in trade. The Nifty Smallcap fell 0.94%, while the Nifty Midcap fell 0.14%. Bank Nifty gave up its gains after reaching a record high, closing below 45,500, while Nifty Media, Nifty PSU Bank, and Nifty Metal fell up to 1.23%. Nifty IT increased by 1.06%, while Nifty Oil & Gas increased by 0.17%.
Crude oil
Oil prices edged higher in early trade on Tuesday after sinking in the previous session on weaker-than-expected Chinese economic growth, as investors eyed a possible tightening of U.S. crude supplies.
Wall Street overnight
U.S. stocks ended higher to kick off the trading week on Monday, buoyed by gains in financial and technology shares. S&P 500 advanced 0.22%, the Nasdaq Composite jumped 0.93%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.22%.
