Share Market Highlights: Sensex down 215 pts as RBI hike Repo rates, Nifty ends below 16400

Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices HIGHLIGHTS: Following the RBI’s repo rate hike, the domestic equity market benchmarks BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 each ended 0.4 percent lower on Wednesday.

The BSE Sensex fell 215 points, or 0.4%, to close at 54892, while the Nifty 50 index closed at 16356, down 60 points, or 0.4%. Top index gainers included Tata Steel, State Bank of India (SBI), Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, TCS, Titan Company, Bajaj Finance, and Maruti Suzuki. Bharti Airtel, on the other hand, was the top drag, followed by ITC, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Asian Paints, Axis Bank, and ICICI Bank, among others. Nifty Bank fell 0.14 percent to 34,946.15.
