Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: Domestic benchmark indices gave up early gains to close in the red amid high volatility. The 30-stock BSE Sensex ended 49 points lower at 59,197, while the NSE Nifty finished flat at 17,656. Sectorally, the Nifty Private Bank and FMCG indices were the hardest hit, falling 0.5% each, while oil and gas, power, and metal stocks saw buying. The top Nifty gainers were Bharti Airtel, NTPC, Apollo Hospitals, Cipla, SBI Life, and RIL, which each gained more than 1%. Tata Consumer Products, Bajaj Twins, UPL, Britannia, Kotak Bank, and M&M, on the other hand, were the laggards, falling up to 2.4%. The BSE MidCap index increased 0.5%, while the BSE SmallCap index increased 0.1%.
