Share Market Highlights: Sensex falls 497 pts, Nifty closes at 16,483

Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: Domestic benchmark indices fell for the second day in a row on Tuesday. The S&P BSE Sensex fell 497 points, or 0.89 percent, to 55,268 while the NSE Nifty 50 index fell 147 points to 16,483. Bank Nifty closed at Highlights, down 0.87 %, while India VIX rose 2.77 % to break through the 18-level barrier. The worst performing stock on the Sensex was Infosys, which fell 3.45 percent, followed by Hindustan Unilever and Axis Bank. On Tuesday, Zomato fell another 12.5 %. Bajaj Finserv, Power Grid, and Bharti Airtel all increased by 5.58 %.
