Bulls returned to Dalal Street on Monday, snapping a three-day losing streak as headline indices rose in the final hour of trading. The S&P BSE Sensex rose 326 points, or 0.62 percent, to 53,234 while the NSE Nifty 50 index rose 83 points, or 0.53 percent, to 15,835. Hindustan Unilever was the top Sensex gainer, up 4%, followed by IndusInd Bank, ITC, and ICICI Bank. TCS was the worst performer, followed by Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Dr. Reddy’s laboratories. The Bank Nifty gained 1.2 percent to close at 33,940, and the broader markets followed suit. The India VIX fell 1.32 percent to 20.97.
