Share Market Highlights: Sensex gains 684 pts, Nifty ends around 17,200

Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: On Friday, Indian equity markets recovered, tracking gains in the US and Asian markets. The BSE benchmark index reached a high of 58,435, up over 1100 points intraday, led by strong gains in IT behemoth Infosys, HDFC, and HDFC Bank. Both indices rose nearly 2% intraday, but lost ground in the second half of the trading day. The Sensex finished 685 points higher at 57,920, while the NSE Nifty 50 index surged past the 17,300-level in early trades before settling at 17,186, up 169 points. Bank, capital goods, healthcare, and information technology indices all rose 0.5-1.8 percent, while metal, power, and oil & gas indices all fell 0.5-1 percent.
