Bulls dominated Dalal Street once more on Friday, as benchmark indices closed higher. The Sensex rose 712 points, or 1.25 %, to 57,570, while the NSE Nifty 50 rose 1.35 % to 17,158.
For the third day in a row, headline indices have risen. Tata Steel led the Sensex gainers with a 7.4 % gain, followed by Sun Pharma and HDFC. Dr Reddy’s dropped 3.9 percent to finish as the Sensex’s worst performing stock, followed by Kotak Mahindra Bank, State Bank of India, and Axis Bank.
The India VIX closed down 17 points, while the Bank Nifty was up 0.30 %.
