Bears continue to dominate domestic markets, as headline indices fell for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday. The Sensex and Nifty fluctuated between gains and losses, finishing the volatile day in the red.
The Sensex fell 152 points, or 0.29 percent, to 52,541 points, while the NSE Nifty 50 index closed just under 15,700 points. The best performing Sensex stock was Bajaj Finserv, which was up 4.24 percent, followed by Bajaj Finance, Tata Steel, and L&T. NTPC, Infosys, Reliance Industries, and HUL were all in the red.
The Bank Nifty outperformed, while the India VIX finished in the red. Stock markets will react tomorrow to the US Federal Reserve’s decision, which is expected later today.
