Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices Highlights: The benchmark equity indices ended Thursday’s trading session in the positive territory. The BSE Sensex surged 195.41 points, or 0.27%, to 72,500.30, while the NSE Nifty 50 gained 31.65 points, or 0.14%, to close at 21,982.80. The large- and mid-cap stocks led the increases in the broader indices, which concluded in mixed territory. The Bank Nifty index closed at 46,120.90, up 157.75 points, or 0.34%. Among the other sectoral indices, PSU Banks and Metal companies did better than Media stocks.
The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the dollar’s value against a basket of six foreign currencies, traded lower, 0.07% at 103.91.
The equity indices in the US closed in negative territory. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 23.39 points, or 0.06% to 38,949.02. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite shed 0.55% to close at 15,947.74. While the S&P 500 slipped 0.17% to settle at 5,069.76.
