Stock Market Highlights, Friday, November 29, 2024: The benchmark equity indices BSE Sensex closed the week’s trading session in positive territory. The BSE Sensex rose 759.05 points, or 0.96 percent, to 79,802.79, trading within a range of 79,923.90-79,026.18. Similarly, the NSE Nifty50 closed at 24,131.10, up 216.95 points, or 0.91 percent.
Bulls won the day as 43 of the 50 constituent companies on the Nifty50 concluded higher, driven by gains of up to 4.40 percent in Bharti Airtel, Cipla, Sun Pharma, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Tata Consumer. In contrast, Power Grid Corporation, Shriram Finance, Hero MotoCorp, HDFC Life, and Nestle India posted losses of up to 1.35 percent.
Notably, Reliance Industries (RIL) closed 1.63 percent higher on Friday, leading the group of index heavyweights.
Among the broader markets, the Nifty Midcap100 and Nifty Smallcap100 indices closed with 0.16 percent and 0.75 percent advances, respectively. With the exception of Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Realty, all sectoral indices closed higher.
The pharmaceutical and healthcare industries grabbed the show, with the Nifty Pharma and Healthcare indices surging 2.35 and 2.04%, respectively.
