Share Market Highlights: Sensex tanks 600 pts, Nifty ends below 17950

Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: Dalal Street was gripped by bears amid tepid foreign flows and mixed global cues. The NSE Nifty 50 closed at 17,914 points, down 187 points or 1.03%, while the BSE Sensex fell 631 points or 1.04% to close at 60,115 points. Broader markets fell in line with benchmarks, with the Nifty MidCap 100 and Nifty SmallCap 100 indexes falling up to 0.5%. Meanwhile, the India VIX, or volatility index, increased by more than 5%. Except for the Nifty Auto index, all sectors have drowned in a sea of red. The Nifty PSU Bank fell more than 2%, the most of any sectoral index.
