Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: Domestic equity indices NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex closed in the green on Monday, as traders cheered the US Federal Reserve Chairman’s less hawkish posture and fresh market-supporting measures announced by the Chinese government. The Nifty 50 closed at 19,306.05, while the Sensex closed at 64,996.60, losing the 65,000 milestone. The broader markets finished mostly in the green, with the Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 rising 0.5% and 0.74%, respectively. Except for the Nifty FMCG, Nifty IT, and Nifty Oil & Gas, all indices climbed. Bank Nifty gained 0.6%, while Nifty Pharma, Nifty Realty, and Nifty PSU Bank gained the most.
Oil prices ticked higher on Monday, along with equity markets, after China took steps to support its flagging economy, though investors remained worried about the pace of growth as well as further U.S. interest rate hikes that could dampen fuel demand.
