Share Market Hiughlights: Nifty tanks 300 pts, ends below 17850, Sensex plunges 980 pts

Today’s Stock Market News | Sensex, Nifty, and Share Prices Highlights: The Indian benchmark indices finished the session in the red, extending losses for the fourth day in a row. The BSE Sensex fell over 980 points to close at 59,845.29, while the NSE Nifty 50 fell 300 points to close just above 17800. Adani Ports, Adani Enterprises, Hindalco Industries, Tata Steel, and Tata Motors were among the worst performers on the Nifty. All sectoral indices finished in the red. The BSE midcap index fell 3.3%, while the smallcap index fell nearly 4%. Meanwhile, the India VIX volatility index rose 6.40% intraday. PSU bank stocks fell 6.06% to close 6.06% lower, while Nifty Media and Nifty Metal fell more than 4% each.
