Preparations are underway for the journey of faith as the Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2025 will commence on July 3.
The cave is located at over 12,700 feet above sea level and contains a naturally formed ice Shivling said to represent Lord Shiva.
The DGP of Jammu and Kashmir continues to review security arrangements, asking all security agencies to take proactive and preventive measures to counter any potential threats.
He emphasized strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and robust coordination among forces to ensure a peaceful and safe pilgrimage.
All routes of the yatra—including the Pahalgam and Baltal axes—have been declared a ‘No Flying Zone’ from July 1 to August 10, 2025.
Consequently, helicopter services for pilgrim travel will not be available in the yatra area. All pilgrims planning to visit the holy shrine are advised to reach on foot or avail themselves of pony and palki services throughout the yatra.
The yatra will conclude on August 9.
