Summer has arrived, and it promises to be another scorcher, with temperatures already exceeding 40 degrees in most parts of the country. Although we can’t control the sun, there are a few simple things we can do to stay hydrated and avoid losing our cool.

Drinking water at regular intervals and eating hydrating foods are two ways to avoid dehydration in the summer.

  • Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day, whether you’re thirsty or not. Attempt to keep water easily accessible.
  • Drink a glass of lemon water, which not only aids in detoxification but also fights dehydration.
  • Consume hydrating foods such as watermelon, cucumber, tomatoes, spinach, oranges, and so on on a daily basis to ensure that you get the majority of your fluids from your regular meals.
  • Coffee, alcohol, and caffeinated drinks should be avoided as they can dehydrate you.
  • Instead of carbonated beverages, try sattu sharbat, lemon water, buttermilk, aam panna, and coconut water.
  • When exercising, make sure to drink plenty of water. You should bring plenty of fluids with you and hydrate as your body requires.
