According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Southwest Monsoon has moved into the remaining regions of Odisha.
“The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Karnataka, Telangana, remaining parts of Andhra Pradesh, some parts of Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, remaining parts of Northwest Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of Odisha & Gangetic West Bengal, some more parts of Jharkhand & Bihar and some parts of East Uttar Pradesh today,” midday weather bulletin of the IMD’s Meteorological Centre here said.
The IMD predicts that light to moderate rain or thundershowers are extremely possible in most parts in Odisha over the next 24 hours.
The weather agency has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, and Cuttack and Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nawarangapur, Koraput, and Malkangiri during the next 24 hours.
For the aforementioned districts, the government has issued a ‘Yellow’ alert.
Similarly, the IMD predicts that the sky will be mostly cloudy with one or two periods of rain or thundershower in Bhubaneswar and its surrounding areas throughout the next 24 hours.

Most Odisha districts are anticipated to have light to moderate rain or thundershowers.

Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall is very possible in one or two spots over the districts of Cuttack, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Angul, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Sundargarh.
