Stock Market Close Highlights | February 13, 2026: Dalal Street saw a slaughter on Friday as bears seized control of the market. Indian equities continued their downward trend, fueled by a sustained global tech downturn that weighed on heavyweight information technology (IT) corporations.
At the closing, the BSE Sensex slid 1,048.16 points, or 1.25 percent, to 82,626.76, while the NSE Nifty50 fell 336.1 points, or 1.30 percent, to 25,471.1.
On the BSE, all stocks fell except for Bajaj Finance and SBI, with HUL, Eicher Motors, Tata Steel, and Titan among the biggest laggards.
Among sectors, the Nifty Metal index saw the most losses, plummeting more than 3%. Meanwhile, the Nifty IT index recovered from previous losses after plunging more than 5%, closing down 1.44 percent.
In broader markets, the Nifty MidCap index declined 1.71 percent, while the Nifty SmallCap index fell 1.79 percent. The India VIX, a volatility index, rose 15.18 percent, signaling increased market concern.
