Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices Highlights: The benchmark equity indices closed the trading session on a lower note on August 08. The BSE Sensex lost over 600 points, or 0.75%, to close the day’s trade at 78,873. The NSE Nifty 50 finished 197 points, or 0.81% lower, at 24,100.50. The Bank Nifty finished at 50,113, down 0.01% or 6 points. Similarly, the Nifty Midcap 100 finished 198 points, or 0.35% lower, at 56,675.65.

Indian benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, are trading lower on Thursday. The BSE Sensex fell by 439.46 points, or 0.55%, to 79,028.55, while the Nifty 50 dropped 139.15 points, or 0.57%, to 24,158.35.
Tata Motors, HDFC Life Insurance, HDFC Bank, Cipla, and Bharti Airtel are the op gainers on NSE Nifty 50 index whereas the top laggards include LTIMindtree, Infosys, Grasim, Asian Paints, and Power Grid Corp.
The NSE Nifty 50 was down 0.29% at 24,227, while the BSE Sensex was down 190 points or 0.24% at 79,282.
The NSE Nifty 50 opened 56 points or 0.23% lower at 24,241.55, while the BSE Sensex opened 217 points or 0.27% lower at 79,250.81.
Shares in the Asia-Pacific region are trading in negative territory on Thursday morning. The Asia Dow is down by 0.24%, Japan’s Nikkei 225 has fallen by 1.41%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index is lower by 0.76%, and China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite is down by 0.09%.
U.S. stocks ended lower on Wednesday, with the Nasdaq falling 1% as technology shares declined and weak demand in a 10-year Treasury auction stoked investor jitters in choppy trade, reported Returns. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite dropped by 171.04 points, or 1.05%, to 16,195.85. The S&P 500 fell by 40.53 points, or 0.77%, to 5,199.50, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased by 234.21 points, or 0.60%, to 38,763.45.
