Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched the 150th program of the state-level national song ‘Vande Mataram’ at Lok Seva Bhavan, highlighting its importance in promoting patriotism and bravery. He remarked that Vande Mataram, based on Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel ‘Ananda Math’, played an important role in raising national consciousness during the freedom struggle.
The British rulers’ prohibition on Vande Mataram was cited as evidence of the song’s power and influence. He encouraged everyone to participate in the year-long celebration, which will feature collective singing, cultural activities, and awareness programs aimed at promoting patriotism among young and students.

The Chief Minister stressed that Vande Mataram rekindles the fire of patriotism, which is critical for India’s prosperity regardless of language, religion, or geography. He encouraged involvement in programs at all levels, including districts, schools, colleges, and organizations, with the goal of spreading Mother India’s glory abroad.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Secretary of the Odia Language, Literature, and Culture Department Dr. Vijay Ketan Upadhyay, all departmental secretaries, and other top officers and employees were in attendance at the occasion. Students from Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya performed the national anthem, Vande Mataram.
