Tata Motors has introduced three new Harrier SUV variants. The carmaker’s official website has been updated with XZS, XZS dual-tone, and XZS Dark Edition variants. These variants range in price from 20 lakh to 21.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The new variants include a number of features that are not available on lower variants of the flagship five-seater SUV. All of these models are powered by the Kryotec 2.0-litre diesel engine, which is paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
The new variants will sit just below the top-spec XZ+ variants and the Harrier SUV’s Kaziranga Edition. Panoramic sunroof, 17-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels, and auto-dimming IRVMs are among the key features added to the new Harrier variants.
The driver seat now has six-way power adjustment as well as lumbar support that can be adjusted. However, Tata has not included features such as ventilated seats and iRA connected car technology in the new Harrier variants.
The rest of the SUV is largely unchanged. The new Harrier variants have projector headlights flanked by LED DRLs on the outside. These models will include integrated turn indicators. The SUV will have a standard 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch driver display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an air purifier, and other features on the inside.
In terms of safety, the new Harrier variants include 6 airbags, a reverse parking camera, corner stability control, roll over mitigation, hill hold and hill descent control, traction control,ESP, ABS and cruise control.
The engine is the same as used in other Harrier variants. The 20-litre inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine produces 170 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque. The manual variants have a mileage of 16.35 kmpl, whereas the automatic variants have a mileage of 14.6 kmpl.
