Tata Motors’ passenger vehicles are often considered as among the safest on the market, and the Nexon line is one of them. Both the combustion engine and battery-powered versions of the Nexon are among the safest automobiles on the market in India, with excellent build quality. Both versions of the subcompact SUV have received a 5-star safety certification from either Global NCAP or Bharat NCAP.
Tata Nexon EV with ADAS
Safety onboard Tata Nexon EV has received another big upgrade. The battery-powered subcompact crossover now features an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). This ADAS kit is available as part of the new Empowered A+ grade with a 45 kWh battery pack, priced at Rs 17.29 lakh (ex-showroom).

Semi-autonomous safety features in the ADAS package include Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Centering System, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Warning (Pedestrian/Cyclist/Car), Autonomous Emergency Braking (Pedestrian/Cyclist/Car), and High Beam Assist. Aside from ADAS, Tata Motors has added a few of convenience features to this new trim, including a rear window cover and ambient lighting.
Tata Nexon EV Dark Edition: What’s new?
More notably, the new Empowered A+ trim with the 45 kWh battery pack is available in a Dark Edition variant. The new Nexon EV Dark and Red Dark trims cost Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom), a Rs 20,000 premium over the Empowered A+ trim. The Nexon EV Dark, like all other Dark Edition models in Tata Motors’ lineup, features a black exterior paint and all-black interiors.
The Nexon EV Dark Edition includes a panoramic sunroof, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging, vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology, an exclusive UI and UX for the 12.3-inch HarmanTM touchscreen infotainment system and 10.25-inch instrument cluster, rear window sunshade, and ambient lighting.

Tata Nexon EV 45: Powertrain
The Nexon EC 45 has a 45 kWh battery and boasts a range of 489 kilometers on a single charge. However, the real-world range is approximately 350-370 kilometers. This battery powers an electric motor driving the front wheels, producing 143 horsepower and 215 Nm of peak torque. Using a 120 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be recharged from 20% to 80% in 40 minutes. In other terms, the DC fast charger could recharge 150 km in 15 minutes.
