According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), temperatures in Odisha have risen by 3°C in coastal parts and up to 7°C in interior regions over the last four days.
According to IMD statistics, temperatures in several parts of Odisha had risen significantly as of 5:30 a.m. today. Jharsuguda recorded a temperature of 14°C, a significant 7.2°C increase. Similarly, Keonjhar reported a temperature of 14.6°C, up 5.2°C, while Bhubaneswar recorded 14.6°C, up 2.2°C.
The coastal communities experienced a noticeable temperature spike. Paradip’s temperature reached 15.4°C, a 3°C increase. Balasore experienced a similar increase, reaching 16°C, up by 3°C. Chandbali registered 16.2°C, a 4°C increase. Gopalpur’s temperature was 16.8°C, up 1.4°C, while Puri’s temperature rose 2.4°C to 18.4°C.
The temperature increase is related to active western disturbances hitting the region.
