- Eight of the top ten most valued firms, based on market capitalisation, lost a total of 2,48,372.97 crore, following a loss of 2,85,251.65 crore for all ten of those firms’ market valuations in the previous week, which ended on May 6.
- Reliance Industries took the biggest hit in the week ending May 13, following a weak broader market trend. Reliance Industries’ valuation has dropped by 1,30,627.7 crore to 16,42,568.98 crore.
- The market capitalisation (mcap) of State Bank of India fell by 35,073.72 crore to 3,97,189.84 crore.
- According to current market capitalisation rankings, Reliance Industries is the most valuable company, followed by Tata Consultancy Services, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, HDFC, Bharti Airtel, and Kotak Mahindra Bank.
- On Friday, mid- and small-cap stocks finished lower, with the Nifty Midcap 100 down 1.03 percent and the small-cap index down 0.94 percent. Seven of the fifteen sector gauges compiled by the National Stock Exchange finished in the red.
- Nifty Bank, Nifty Financial Services, and Nifty Metal all underperformed the index, falling 1.23 percent, 1.26 percent, and 2.08 percent, respectively.
