The three-day 59th all-India DGP-IGP conference, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, among others, finished in Bhubaneswar on Sunday under tight security.
City Police Commissioner Suresh Devadatta Singh stated, “In the face of potential threats, a foolproof security blanket was ensured during the event.”
While Shah opened the conference at the Lok Seva Bhawan on November 29, Prime Minister Modi presided over the meetings on Saturday and Sunday. After three days in the Odisha capital, both the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister flew to Delhi from Biju Patnaik International Airport.
The seminar was attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, as well as DGPs from all states and union territories.
According to reports, the meeting discussed a variety of security-related problems, including developing roadmaps to address existing and growing national security threats such as Left-Wing Extremism (LWE), coastal security, narcotics, cybercrime, and economic security.
The conference also reviewed the implementation of new criminal legislation and initiatives, as well as best police practices.
In response to threats from extremist groups, the Odisha Police Department implemented complex security precautions.
