Tomorrow (April 14), thunderstorms with lightning, strong surface winds reaching speeds of 50-60 kmph, and hailstorms are expected in up to 20 districts across Odisha.
On Sunday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange warning.
According to the midday weather bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and at one or two places over Subarnapur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri districts on April 14.
On Tuesday (April 15), light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely in the afternoon/evening hours at a few places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati, and at one or two places over Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri districts.
The IMD has also issued an Orange Warning for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds of 40-50 kmph in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Balasore, and Bhadrak districts.
From April 16 to April 18, the IMD predicts mild to moderate rain or thunderstorms in the afternoon/evening in a few Odisha districts.
Temperatures are likely to remain stable for the next 4-5 days across Odisha’s districts.
