Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 Box Office Collection, Day 1: Tiger 3 is already breaking records at the box office. The Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif actioner opened to strong figures on Sunday, despite Laxmi Puja, which is often a slow day at the box office due to Diwali celebrations. Tiger 3’s all-India box office collection was Rs 52.50 crore GBOC, according to YRF. The film grossed Rs 41.50 crore GBOC in foreign markets. The film’s total international earnings are Rs 94 crore.
Tiger 3’s opening day collections are already the biggest for any Hindi film on Diwali day. The current record for Diwali day aggregated total is Rs 22 crore, which was the combined collection of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan (Rs 12.60 crore on day one) and Ajay Devgn’s Son Of Sardaar (Rs 9.30 crore on day one), the two films that clashed in 2012.
Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3 previously held the record for the greatest Diwali day collection by a single film. The superhero picture earned Rs 15 crore on Diwali, the film’s third day.
Tiger 3 is also Salman Khan’s largest opening, as his previous record was Bharat, which earned Rs 42.30 crore on the first day of Eid, a national holiday.
Tiger 3’s beginning is not as strong as Shah Rukh Khan’s previous two releases this year, Pathaan (Rs 57 crore) and Jawan (Rs 75 crore), but with a record-breaking start despite a bad day, Tiger 3 has now set itself up for a long Diwali holiday run.
The trade anticipates that the picture would earn more than Rs 120 crore on Monday and Tuesday, with a three-day total of more over Rs 165 crore.
Tiger 3, the third part of the massively successful franchise, also stars Katrina Kaif and has Emran Hashmi as an antagonist. The spy thriller is part of Yash Raj Films’ spy universe, which also includes Hrithik Roshan’s War and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.
