After lean couple of days in Tokyo, India have bagged two medals on Friday with 18-year-old Praveen Kumar winning silver in Men’s High Jump T64 classification with the best jump of 2.07m while Avani Lekhara, India’s first female Paralympic gold medallist has won a bronze medal in Women’s 50m Rifle Three Positions SH1 classification.
Earlier in the day, Manoj Sarkar (MS SL3), Tarun Dhillon (MS SL4), Suhas Yathiraj (MS SL4), Pramod Bhagat-Palak Kohli (XD SL3-SU5) are all booked their spot in semifinals of their respective classifications. Meanwhile, archers Harvinder Singh and Vishal Chikara have qualified for the pre-quarterfinals of the Men’s Recurve event.
Shuttlers Palak Kohli and Parul Parmar lost their match against the French pair of Lenaig Morin and Faustine Noel 12-21, 20-12. Swimmers Suyash Yadav and Niranjan Mukundan also bowed out of their events after finishing 5th and 6th respectively in their heats. Prachi Yadav finished 8th in the Canoe Sprint final. This was her maiden Paralympic participation.
