The University Grants Commission (UGC) has added one more subject to the National Eligibility Test (NET), beginning with the December 2024 session. Applicants will be able to register for the new UGC NET 2024 topic while filling out the December 2024 exam application form.
“Ayurveda Biology is now introduced as a subject in the UGC-NET exam. Starting December 2024, candidates can opt for this unique subject, promoting interdisciplinary knowledge and the ancient science of Ayurveda,” UGC informed via a post on micro blogging website X.
The syllabus of the newly introduced subject is available on the official website – ugcnetonline.in.
“Based on the expert committee’s recommendations, the Commission, in its 581 meeting held on 25th June, 2024, has decided to add “Ayurveda Biology” as an additional subject from December 2024 onwards to the existing list of subjects of UGC NET,” the Commission in a statement said.
UGC added Disaster Management as a new subject in June this year. UGC conducts NET through the National Testing Agency (NTA). NTA UGC NET is held twice a year: in June and December.
On October 17, the NTA announced the UGC NET June 2024 exam results, as well as the subject- and category-specific cutoffs. The official website that hosts the UGC NET 2024 June result link is ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
