UGC NET December 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on December 13 started the application window for the University Grants Commission’s National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET). Candidates who have registered for the December session can edit their application form and pay a specific fee amount at the official website-ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
The UGC NET edit window is active till today (December 14) at 11:59 p.m. Candidates who need to edit will need to log in with their application number, date of birth, and password, followed by the Captcha code for final verification.
UGC NET 2024: What can be edited?
Not all fields can be updated by candidates. Candidates who have verified using an Aadhaar Card are unable to modify their name, gender, photo, signature, mobile number, email address, permanent or correspondence address, or exam city; however, categories such as date of birth, category, father’s name, and mother’s name can be edited.
The exam is scheduled to take place between January 1 and January 19. Once the edit option has been completed, the exam center city will be notified, and admit cards will be distributed shortly thereafter.
In the June session, on June 19, one day after the examination, the Centre canceled the exam crucial for entry-level teaching jobs and PhD admissions in Indian universities, following inputs from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) that “the integrity of the examination may have been compromised”
The input was a screenshot of a UGC-NET paper that circulated on a Telegram channel about 2 p.m. on exam day (June 18), with messages and comments indicating that it was leaked prior to the first session. Later in August, the Agency re-announced the altered June session dates. The UGC NET was thereafter administered in Computer Based Test (CBT) modality from August 21 to September 4.
