Mirror Placement Dos and Don’ts As Per Vastu Shastra:
- Mirrors can be hung on the wall or placed up to four or five feet off the ground. Mirrors or other reflective glass surfaces should be installed on the eastern or northern walls. Tabletops and televisions, for example, should be positioned in the southeast corner. If at all possible, keep the reflecting surfaces covered when not in use.
- Remove the mirror from the stairwell. In the kitchen, mirrors should not be used. Mirrors that reflect the kitchen should also be avoided.
- Keeping a mirror near the study table can have a negative impact on concentration, which is one of the most important factors to consider when designing a vastu-compliant study room.
- Putting two mirrors next to each other will bring negativity into the home. Keep two mirrors in different rooms, or at least a long distance apart.
- A mirror in the southwest may cause conflict among family members and many arguments. Mirrors here can double your costs, which are generally unnecessary expenses, because this direction also governs money storage.
- Make sure the mirrors are positioned so that they reflect positive things.
- A mirror that reflects the dining table should be considered as well. It will eventually result in more food at home and attract wealth into the family.
- Never put a mirror on the bathroom door because it will reflect the energies back into your room or living space.
- If you must hang a mirror in your bedroom, keep the following mirror placement directions in mind: north, east, north east, and west walls.
- If your bedroom has a dressing table with a mirror, make sure it does not directly face your bed. A dressing table with a mirror, according to Vastu, should be hidden and not visible from the bed.
