Bhubaneswar: The Low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea now lies as a well Marked Low pressure area over the same period, informed the India Meteorological department (IMD) on Thursday.
The system is probably to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a despair over southeast Bay during next 12 hours and further intensify into a Cyclonic storm over central Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours.
Under its impact, heavy rainfall is likely to arise in Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khordha, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput. Wind speed is to gradually increase after Dec 3 and reach around 90 kmph by December 4.
The cyclone may have its maximum effect on coastal Odisha on December 4. Meanwhile, fishermen were asked not to venture into the sea from December 3 to 5.
