The Uttar Pradesh government intends to transform former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s hometown of Bateshwar in the Agra district into a significant religious tourism destination.
On December 25, the late leader’s birthday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to lay the groundwork for development projects costing more than Rs 100 crore in Bateshwar.
State Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh stated that the chief minister would attend a public meeting following the launch of heliport services in Agra and Mathura.
Bateshwar has 101 historic and well-known temples. People all around the country worship Lord Shankar’s historic shrine.
A state government spokesperson said: “The chief minister will inaugurate the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cultural Complex Centre building and unveil a statue of Vajpayee on the same premises. He will also lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various projects and schemes. He will visit the three-day Atal Agricultural Fair and Agricultural Exhibition to felicitate beneficiaries of government schemes.”
