Bhubaneswar: The price of milk being sold by Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation (OMFED) in the state was today increased by Rs 2 per litre.
The price of OMFED milk was hiked for the last time in 2020 by Rs 2 per litre. The fresh decision was taken by OMFED in view of the demand of the milk farmers.
OMFED in a statement said that prices of substances which are directly and indirectly connected to milk production have gone up. These include electricity tariff, packaging, transportation and fodder.
Earlier, a 500 ml packet of OMFED milk was sold at Rs 23. The price became Rs 24 from today.
On the other hand, OMFED today also launched a new variety of milk in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri namely ‘Chai Special’. It will cost Rs 23 per packet of 500 ml of milk.
