The Odisha Cricket Association held a Special General Meeting on 8th May 2022 (Sunday) at 7:30 PM in the OCA Conference Hall at Barabati Stadium.
The meeting was presided over by President Shri Pankaj Lochan Mohanty. He said.
It gives great pleasure to inform you that the BCCI has awarded our state the 2nd T-20 International between India and South Africa in the SOUTH AFRICA TOUR OF INDIA T20 SERIES, which will be played at Barabati Stadium on June 12, 2022, under flood lights.
After more than two years, we are hosting an international event.
In this regard, Shri Sanjay Behera (Secretary, OCA) informed the house that the OCA had already requested the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik, the Hon’ble Minister of Sports, and Hon’ble Minister of Sports and YS Dept. Shri Tusharkanti Behera, Sri R Vineel Krishna I A S (Comm Cum Secretary, Sports & Y S Dept. of Govt of Odisha), Mr S K Priyadarsi I P S (C P, Commissionerate of Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack) and also with SRC Department to conduct this match with spectator.
We are hopeful that the state government will consider our request.
In this regard, it is also possible that a coordination meeting with high-level government officials will be held in the near future. We will keep you updated on any developments that occur in the future.
Two budgets were placed in the Special General Meeting of the OCA held today, one with spectators and one without, and they were approved in the Finance Committee. After much deliberation, it was decided that the President, Secretary, and Finance Committee would work out and finalise the Budget.
It should also be noted that this match will be played under newly installed LED flood lights, the first of its kind in our state. Also, it should be noted that the outfield of the Barabati Stadium has been converted to sand, and we have already hosted many BCCI domestic matches. The following are the travel schedules for the team’s arrival and practise.

• Team Departure Dates –13th June 2022.
• Match Start Time – 7.00 PM
• Nets Practice – TBD
• Team & Match Official Accommodation – at Hotel Mayfair Lagoon (by BCCI).
OCA has started the process for a smooth running of this prestigious event while maintaining our state’s pride and prestige. All other information will be released in due course.
Many distinguished Odisha Cricket Association members were in attendance, as were the following office bearers: Shri Sanjay Behera (Secretary), Mehtab Khan (Joint Secretary), and Sri Bikash Pradhan (Treasurer). Mr. Subrat Kumar Behera, CEO of OCA, was also in attendance.
Mehtab Khan gave a vote of thanks to the chair at the end of the meeting (Joint Secretary).
