According to a notification issued today by the Election Commission of India (ECI), a bypoll to a Rajya Sabha seat from Odisha will be held on June 13.
Subhash Chandra Singh resigned from the post after being elected Mayor of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) in March of this year.
According to ECI’s notification, voting will take place on June 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The votes will be counted on the same day at 5 p.m.

The ECI has directed the Odisha Chief Secretary to appoint a senior officer from the state to ensure that the existing COVID-19 containment measures are followed while preparing for the bypoll.
