The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the North Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has intensified into a Depression, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.
On October 23, it is expected to move northwestward and intensify further into a Deep Depression over Eastcentral and adjoining Southeast and Westcentral Bay of Bengal.
As a result, by October 24th, it is very likely to recurve gradually northwards and intensify into a Cyclonic Storm over Westcentral & adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Following that, it is expected to move north-northeastwards, skirting the coasts of West Bengal and Bangladesh by the morning of October 25th.
Over Odisha during October 23-25, scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls is very likely due to the influence of the aforementioned system. On October 24, isolated very heavy rainfall is also possible over Odisha.
