Last week, nine of the ten most valuable companies added more than Rs 2.12 lakh crore to their market valuations, with HDFC Bank and TCS leading the way.
The 30-share BSE benchmark rose 844.68 points, or 1.38 percent, last week.
The stock exchanges were closed on Tuesday in observance of Guru Nanak Jayanti.
Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) was the only laggard among the top ten.
Last week, the top nine firms increased their market valuation by a total of Rs 2,12,478.82 crore.
HDFC Bank was among the winners, adding Rs 63,462.58 crore to its valuation of Rs 8,97,980.25 crore.
Tata Consultancy Services’ valuation has increased by Rs 36,517.34 crore to Rs 12,13,378.03 crore.
HDFC’s market capitalization increased by Rs 29,422.52 crore to Rs 4,81,818.83 crore, while Reliance Industries’ increased by Rs 26,317.30 crore to Rs 17,80,206.22 crore.
Infosys’ market capitalisation (m-cap) increased by Rs 23,626.96 crore to Rs 6,60,650.10 crore, while Adani Enterprises’ m-cap increased by Rs 20,103.92 crore to Rs 4,56,992.25 crore.
The valuation of State Bank of India increased by Rs 6,559.59 crore to Rs 5,36,458.41 crore, while that of Bharti Airtel increased by Rs 5,591.05 crore to Rs 4,59,773.28 crore.
ICICI Bank’s market capitalization increased by Rs 877.56 crore to Rs 6,32,192.05 crore.
However, Hindustan Unilever’s market capitalization fell by Rs 3,912.07 crore to Rs 5,88,220.17 crore.
Reliance Industries was the most valuable company in the top ten, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Unilever, State Bank of India, HDFC, Bharti Airtel, and Adani Enterprises.
