Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each for the kin of those killed in Monday’s goods train mishap at Korai railway station in Odisha’s Jajpur district.
Vaishnaw expressed his condolences for the loss of life and announced ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh each for the treatment of critically injured people and Rs 25,000 for minor injuries.
It is worth noting that the goods train derailed and crashed into the railway station’s waiting room. The accident killed three people, including two women, and injured many more. The injured have all been transferred to the district headquarters hospital.
