In the 2022/23 home schedule announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, the India men’s team will host Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Australia in series spanning all formats, including a four-match Test series for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BCCI).
The Indian men’s international home season of nine ODIs, six T20Is, and four Tests will begin in January with a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. The matches will be played in Mumbai, Pune, and Rajkot on January 3, 5, and 7, respectively.
Following that, the two teams will play three one-day internationals (ODIs) on January 10, 12, and 15 in Guwahati, Kolkata, and Thiruvananthapuram, respectively. Sri Lanka last visited the country in February and March 2022, losing T20Is and Test series.
The action will then shift to a three-match ODI series against New Zealand, with matches taking place in Hyderabad, Raipur, and Indore on January 18, 21, and 24. The second One-Day International (ODI) between India and New Zealand on January 21 will be a landmark ODI for Raipur, which will host its first international match.
India will also play a three-match Twenty20 International series against New Zealand, who will visit the country in November and December 2021. The two teams will meet on January 27, 29, and February 1 in Ranchi, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad, respectively.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will also begin in Nagpur from February 9 to 13. India and Australia will play their next three Test matches in Delhi (February 17-21), Dharamsala (March 1-5) and Ahmedabad (March 9-13). Delhi will be hosting a Test match after five years.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will also be the final edition to be a four-match Test series, with the Future Tours Programme (FTP) stating that the series will become a five-match fixture. The men’s domestic season in India will conclude with a three-match ODI series in Mumbai (March 17), Visakhapatnam (March 19), and Chennai (March 20). (March 22).
