Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Swearing-In Updates: On Monday, BJP leader Bhupendra Patel took oath as Gujarat Chief Minister for a second consecutive term in Gandhinagar, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Chief ministers from various BJP-ruled states were in attendance.
Governor Acharya Devvrat administered Patel’s oath as the 18th Chief Minister of Gujarat at a ceremony held at the Helipad Ground inside the new secretariat complex in the state capital at 2 p.m. Along with Patel, several BJP leaders, including Harsh Sanghavi and Jagdish Vishwakarma, were sworn in as Gujarat cabinet ministers on Monday. The swearing-in ceremony was also attended by BJP national president JP Nadda and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The Bharatiya Janata Party won 156 of the total 182 seats in the recently concluded Gujarat Assembly elections, giving it a historic lead and its seventh consecutive victory. The main opposition party, Congress, won only 17 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won five seats in the state legislative Assembly.
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has congratulated Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel on taking the oath as Chief Minister of Gujarat.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said;
“Congratulations to Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel on taking oath as CM of Gujarat. I would like to also congratulate all those who took oath as Ministers. This is an energetic team which will take Gujarat to even newer heights of progress.”
